About the McMurray Dirt Riders Association

The McMurray Dirt Riders Association is a non-profit organization that has as a goal to encourage motorcycle dirt riders to ride the motocross track and off-road trails in a safe and responsible manner, all the while enjoying themselves. The main goals of the association are listed below:

  • Provide a well maintained motocross track for practice and racing, as well as host a series of motocross races
  • Assist with riding instruction through clinics and practice nights in order to allow riders to hone their skills across the board
  • Promote safe track and off-road dirt riding behaviour by setting an example at the track and in the club culture
  • Organize and hold off-road group ride events for riders that want to ride trail and explore the outdoors

The Association will host races, family events, and club rides and practices which will help the members get to know one another as well as to help create community within Fort McMurray. The Dirt Riders Association maintains a motocross track which is approximately 14 km south of the Athabasca River Bridge, on Highway 63 South. A map is shown below. The track is on the west side of the highway.

Another measure of distance to getting to the track is while driving south on Highway 63, drive exactly 4km past the Highway 69 turnoff. You will see the transformer station on the right. Turn off there and as soon as you turn right off the highway, take a left at the T. Scroll down for another map.
